The Challenge: Balancing Bold Personal Expression with Functional Family Living

Our clients came to us with a refreshing and joyful brief: they wanted to move away from the expected neutrals and fully embrace a world of deep, bold pigments and striking, large-scale patterns. The goal was to create a home that felt like a living gallery of their personalities, while simultaneously solving the practical "growing pains" of a busy household with teenage children and an aging parent.

Fearless Pattern and Pigment

We leaned into the drama of the home’s original architecture to create moments of pure joy.

The Mural Statement: We utilized large-scale mural wallpapers to create immersive, artistic focal points that act as soulful conversation starters in the main living zones.

Tonal Warmth: In the teenage daughter’s retreat, we introduced clay-pink French wash walls. This hand-finished texture creates a sophisticated, "grown-up" sanctuary that feels both timeless and youthful—a space she can truly grow into.

Honouring the Past: A core part of our heart-led design was seamlessly incorporating the clients’ cherished antique furniture. By surrounding these storied pieces with bold, modern colours, we gave them a fresh relevance, bridging the gap between generations.

Clever Solutions for a Growing Household

With teenage children comes the need for serious organization. We looked "up" to find the space our clients needed:

Vertical Ingenuity: By utilizing the home’s soaring ceiling heights, we designed bespoke vertical storage solutions that provide ample room for teenage essentials without cluttering the floor plan.

Hidden Elegance: In the bathrooms, we designed custom mirrored shaving cabinets. These act as stylish, light-reflecting features while cleverly hiding away the daily essentials, keeping the surfaces clean and serene.

Designing for Every Generation

As a family-focused studio, we believe beauty should never come at the cost of safety or wellbeing.

The Custom Stair Runner: We commissioned a bespoke stair runner, specifically designed and manufactured to provide a soft, high-grip surface. This was a vital addition to ensure the home was safe and comfortable for an aging parent, without sacrificing the home’s elegant aesthetic.
