The Countryside Estate | Tailored Comfort in a New Build
The Challenge: Infusing New Architecture with Warmth and History
Set against a stunning natural landscape, this newly finished home was a beautiful blank canvas. However, our clients soon realized that their existing furniture didn't quite suit the new proportions or the classic architectural spirit of the house. Our mission was to design a completely custom floor plan and curation that felt as though it had evolved over time, ensuring the interiors were refined enough for the setting while remaining deeply supportive of a busy family life.
Perfectly Scaled & Custom Made
Because "off-the-shelf" furniture often gets lost in the expansive rooms of a country home, we took a bespoke approach to ensure every corner was utilized with intention.
The Custom Floor Plan: We meticulously mapped out the home to create a flow that encourages family connection. We then had pieces made to perfectly fit the space, ensuring the scale felt balanced and comfortable within the grander architectural footprint.
Blending the Generations: While much of the home is new, we thoughtfully incorporated some of the family’s cherished older pieces where possible. This blend of new custom work and familiar heirlooms is what gives the home its soulful, layered character.
Artisanal Textures for Family Living
We believe that country living should be as practical as it is beautiful. To achieve this, we focused on high-quality, life-friendly materials that offer a sense of daily wellbeing:
Locally Upholstered Luxury: We designed custom sofas, ottomans, and soft furnishings, all locally upholstered in artisanal printed linens and natural fibres.
A Calming Palette: We drew inspiration from the trees and hills outside, using a palette of blues, camel tones, and soft greens to create a harmonious atmosphere that invites the family to exhale.
Depth, Contrast, and Connection
To ground the light-filled rooms, we introduced dark-stained timber furniture that echoes the richness of the flooring. This creates a beautiful contrast against the softer textiles and tailored upholstery, ensuring the spaces feel enduring rather than fleeting.
The Porch Light Touch: A Ready-to-Live Sanctuary
By stepping in after the build was complete, we were able to turn a structure into a sanctuary. As a design team, we prioritized long-term liveability, ensuring that every fabric and finish could withstand the joys of rural family life. The result is a timeless country interior that balances classic elegance with a relaxed, soulful spirit—perfectly suited to the rhythms of Queensland living.
